How Did This Accident Occur?
Most people likely would chalk this crash up to driver inattention or error, but experience has taught me that there can be other possible causes for a crash like this.
Was the truck legally parked on the side of the road? Did it have its hazard lights on, with emergency triangles laid out? I’ve seen instances where truck drivers didn’t take these required precautions, leaving their trucks nearly invisible to other vehicles.
Whatever the facts of this crash turn out to be, this must be one of many things that authorities consider during their investigation.
