How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports contend this crash was caused by a pickup that failed to yield on a left turn, but authorities have not sought any charges or citations against the driver yet. That could mean that they’re waiting to complete their investigation before reaching any final conclusions about this accident. That is in line with advice I often give, based on my experience with accident investigations.

It is always best to wait until all of the facts are known before trying to sort out how a crash like this happened.

Authorities will work to reconstruct this crash using vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage. Cell phone records could show if the Chevrolet driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time, while a qualified expert should examine these vehicles if investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to the crash.
