How Did This Accident Occur?

This crash may seem relatively straight forward until you start asking questions. Was the truck stopped or moving? Did it have working taillights and brake lights? Did the car have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are the kind of things authorities should consider as they investigate this crash.

Vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage should help investigation reconstruct this accident, while cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

If authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, a qualified expert should examine the vehicles before they are repaired or scrapped. Few law enforcement agencies have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience, but the driver’s family deserves to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
