Hale County, TX — February 6, 2024, Taylor Aspen and four others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident just after 3:30 p.m. along Yonkers Street.

According to authorities, a 20-year-old man was traveling in a northbound Chevy Silverado pickup truck on Yonkers Street at the 11th Street intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, the pickup truck ran a stop sign, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the pickup truck and a westbound Nissan Murano SUV occupied by three females ages 56, 28, and 3. The collision caused both of the vehicles to swerve northward, resulting in a secondary and tertiary collision with Nissan Altima occupied by 25-year-old Taylor Aspen and a Honda Element occupied by a 65-year-old woman which had been at a stop in the southbound lane. The pickup truck allegedly flipped over onto the top of the Altima, scraping across it until it fell back to the ground.

The man who had been behind the wheel of the pickup truck allegedly fled the scene, but was later apprehended. Aspen incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident. All three occupants of the Nissan Murano and the woman from the Honda sustained reportedly moderate injuries, as well. All five were transported to local medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment.
