How Did This Accident Occur?
Single-vehicle crashes are often attributed to driver inattention, but my experience with thousands of vehicle accidents has proven there can be other, unexpected causes.
Investigators likely will consider whether the driver was fatigued or impaired, but will they look into whether a tire blowout caused the SUV to go off the road? Or brake failure? Or an issue with its electronic lane departure warning system?
Not every law enforcement agency has the training, tools or time for such investigations. Do you think investigators should consider such possibilities?
