Coppell, TX — June 18, 2023, Samuel Herrera was injured in a single-vehicle accident around 1:46 a.m. on Lyndon B. Johnson Fwy. in Coppell.
Sources report the victim was traveling eastbound on the freeway and approaching the S. Royal Lane on-ramp in Mazda CX-5 when his vehicle somehow veered toward the passenger side and left the road. The Mazda reportedly drove down a steep embankment and entered a rocky drainage ditch. A collision with a part of the dich reportedly caused substantial damage to the front of the vehicle.
Mr. Herrera reportedly suffered serious injuries.
Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident. A witness allegedly told officials that Mr. Herrera’s vehicle had its emergency flashers on prior to the crash.
