How Did This Accident Occur?

On this surface, this crash appears to be a crash involving a young driver on a dark road involving a pedestrian who may not have been using a crosswalk, but experience has taught me not to take any crash as face value.

Was the driver texting or otherwise distracted? Did the pickup have a brake problem or other mechanical issue that prevented the driver from being able to stop before the crash?

I think these are important questions to be answered, even if it takes an independent investigation. Do you agree?
