Accident Report

Godley, TX — July 11, 2026, Peyton Flurry was killed in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 6:30 p.m. on State Highway 171.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox was heading west when it collided with an eastbound 2023 Suzuki GSX motorcycle.

Motorcyclist Peyton Cheyenne Flurry, 25, of Mansfield died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.

The Chevrolet driver, who suffered minor injuries, was charged with intoxication manslaughter, the report states.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Johnson County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

This crash should be investigated like any other fatality accident, but I would encourage authorities to go a step further if blood test confirm the Chevrolet driver was intoxicated. They should look into where he had been drinking before the crash.

That matters because under Texas law alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused by drunk drivers if they were served while obviously intoxicated before they got behind the wheel.

I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but it’s worth investigating so the motorcyclist’s family knows everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
