Accident Report

August 22, 2026, one person was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 9:46 p.m. along East Martin Street.

According to initial details from authorities, the accident happened off the corner of East Martin Street and Jefferson Street.

It appears that a 31-year-old man was on in the area. While in the roadway, a vehicle reportedly struck the pedestrian, then left the scene.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries. It’s unclear if authorities ever located or identified a suspect.

How Did This Accident Occur?

A driver fleeing an accident scene late at night raises some all too familiar flags for drunk driving. It wouldn’t surprise me if that played a role here, as well.
