Authorities say the collision happened when a vehicle crashed into a semi-truck that was pulled over on the side of the Bishop Ford Freeway. According to reports, the driver of the vehicle struck the non-moving semi and was ejected from the car upon impact. A third vehicle was also hit in the accident.
The accident reportedly happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. One person died in the collision, and two others sustained minor injuries. Both people were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
