How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s not clear at this point why this Jeep drove off the road. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Did he swerve to avoid another vehicle or an object in the road? Did the Jeep have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? Considering questions like this should help authorities sort out what caused this crash.

Investigators will reconstruct this accident by poring over vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage, while cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time.

If authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, a qualified expert should examine the Jeep in a laboratory setting before it is repaired or scrapped. That inspection also should consider whether a design defect may have turned a survivable accident into a fatal one, as some vehicles are not designed properly to protect drivers from a rollover crash.

This investigation should give the driver’s family a clear picture of what caused this accident.
