Accident Report

Houston, TX — March 1, 2026, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident at about 8:25 p.m. on South Freeway/State Highway 288.

Authorities said a pedestrian was trying to cross the freeway from the west side when he was hit by two southbound vehicles. The first one didn’t stop, but the second, a Toyota Tacoma, did.

The pedestrian, a 66-year-old man whose name has not been made public yet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

The Toyota driver, who did not exhibit any signs of intoxication, was questioned and released after the crash, authorities aid.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Harris County crash. The accident is still being investigated.
