How Did This Accident Occur?
At this point, we don’t know why these vehicles collided. One of them probably drifted out of its lane, but we don’t know which one.
Investigators should the able to sort out which vehicle left its lane as they review physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and available video footage. The probe also should provide clues as to why that happened.
Maybe one driver was fatigued, distracted or even impaired. Maybe the vehicle swerved to avoid another vehicle. Maybe it had a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism. It is up to authorities to provide satisfactory answers, or those affected by this crash may opt to have an independent investigator take another look at the evidence.
