How Did This Accident Occur?

Crashes like this aren’t as cut and dried as they may seem. People may think responsibility for this crash lies solely with truck driver, since professional drivers are obligated to operate their vehicles safely, but I’ve seen enough pedestrian crashes in my career to realize they’re not always so easy to sort out.

Maybe the truck was equipped with a forward-facing dashcam, as many today are. Or maybe there was a traffic camera nearby that captured the collision.

We won’t know what really happened until the investigation is complete.
