Accident Report
Smith County, TX — March 16, 2026, one person was injured in a bus accident at about 8:20 a.m. in the 16700 block of Old Jacksonville Highway/F.M. 2493.
Authorities said a pickup and a day-care bus collided head on near the intersection with Saline Creek Road/F.M. 2813. There were no children on the bus at the time.
The pickup driver, whose name has not been made public yet, was seriously injured in the crash south of Tyler, according to authorities.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Smith County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
