According to officials, a 24-year-old man was on a motorcycle going eastbound along Boca Chica. A Dodge Charger was going westbound when it allegedly failed to yield making a turn. As a result, the vehicles collided.
Reports say that the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries. Authorities say they recommended citing the Dodge driver. No further information is available at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities seem to clearly blame this crash on a car failing to yield. Even a damning report like that, though, might not be enough to get a just outcome. Part of the reason for that is a lot of folks just think badly about motorcyclists. They assume all riders are reckless, and even seeing claims of a car driver messing up might leave too much room for doubt, and bias can fill in those gaps.
Insurance companies are all too aware of this, which is why it’s always best to ensure investigations cover as much ground as possible. Knowing who to blame is one thing; having a complete story with clear facts and evidence helps ensure there’s no room for speculation or blame-shifting. Even serious biases aren’t likely to last when there’s undeniable evidence on the table. So, hopefully authorities or independent investigators have secured evidence here to ensure there’s a clear path toward a just and fair outcome.
