Harris County, TX — November 1, 2022, Michelle Godfrey Johnson was injured in a hit-and-run around 10:47 p.m. on Tomball Pkwy. in Harris County.
According to authorities, Michelle Godfrey Johnson’s Jeep Compass was traveling southbound on Tomball Pkwy. when a westbound Chevy Tahoe allegedly ran a red light and struck Ms. Johnson’s vehicle. The Tahoe driver then reportedly accused the victim of running and red light and fled the scene of the collision on foot.
Officials report the driver of the Chevy Tahoe was later found and apprehended and that police filed a charging instrument against the suspect for Failure to Stop and Render Aid. However, if it is accurate that the driver ran a red light, police will likely recommend additional charges.
The collision is still under investigation and the current recommended charges were recently filed on March 31, 2023.
