How Did This Accident Occur?

Single-vehicle accidents tend to raise a lot of speculation about what the driver may have done wrong. Things like distracted driving and unsafe speeds are certainly common, but there can absolutely be a crash like this drivers can’t avoid. For instance, what if a tire blew out? That can require careful analysis of the tire to find out if some external force led to the failure or if the tire had a manufacturing defect. And if the driver is too seriously injured to give their side of the story after the crash, authorities might focus too much on the more common possible factors drivers can usually avoid. That’s why I’ve actually had cases where independent investigations had to correct official reports because they overlooked something important. Maybe they’ve been more thorough here, though. That’s up to the evidence to say.
