How Did This Accident Occur?
Any single-vehicle accident is going to raise common concerns, like possible distracted driving, fatigue, or unsafe speeds. Of course, proper investigations need to consider even unlikely possible factors. For instance, even a possible vehicle defect is worth consideration until evidence can say one way or another what happened.
The challenge with that, though, is folks are often concerned authorities might not be telling their side of the story fairly. That’s a totally reasonable concern. In fact, I’ve seen a lot of single-vehicle accidents treated as a low priority, and that can lead to important details slipping through the cracks or authorities jumping to conclusions. So, it can be helpful to consider independent investigations after crashes like this. They can either reaffirm what authorities already know, or they can find important information authorities missed on their first pass.
