How Did This Accident Occur?

Was the Ford driver distracted or fatigued? Did the truck stop suddenly? Did the Ford have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? I don’t claim to know the answer to these questions, but in my experience they are the kind of things that authorities should consider as they investigate this crash.

That means working to reconstruct this accident using vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage, while cell phone records could show what the Ford driver was doing at the time.

If investigators suspect a mechanical problem played a role in this crash, a qualified expert should examine the vehicles before they are repaired or scrapped.
