Accident Report
San Antonio, TX — February 28, 2026, Kaila Price was killed in a car accident at about 1:15 a.m. on Interstate 35/South PanAm Expressway.
Authorities said a Honda sedan was heading west near San Pedro Avenue when it veered over the curb and fell off the elevated level of the interstate. The car landed on its roof on the lower level of I-35.
The driver, a 27-year-old Schertz resident Kaila Danyelle Price, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities. Her name has not been made public yet.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bexar County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
It’s not clear at this point what caused this vehicle to leave the road, but I’m more concerned about how it managed to leave the upper level of the interstate. The barriers there are supposed to be able to keep errant vehicles from crashing onto the road below, but that didn’t happen in this case.
Was there some sort of defect in the concrete used for the barrier, or was it damaged and due to be repaired?
Investigators should seek to answer these questions as they’re piecing together how the car went off the elevated highway.
