Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
There seem to be a lot of unanswered questions here. Was the truck in motion when this happened? Was the victim on the job at the time? Were there supposed to be safety procedures in place to prevent this? Did the vehicle have some kind of mechanical issue that caused the victim to fall? Was the driver doing something they shouldn’t have been?
The legal avenues stemming from an accident like this can vary significantly depending on the exact circumstances leading up to the accident. As such, a thorough investigation shouldn’t simply tell the victim’s family what happened; it needs to say why it happened, how it could have been avoided, and what may come next for the family.
