How Did This Accident Occur?

If it’s true this happened due to a vehicle driving in the wrong lane, the most common reason that happens is cellphone usage. There are other factors which need to be considered, of course. Vehicle defects, tire blowouts, medical conditions, road hazards, etc. But even in the likely event a distraction caused this crash, that doesn’t necessarily make things open-and-shut. After all, getting a resolution after a crash requires evidence.

It would surprise people how often authorities failed to preserve enough evidence in their own investigations. In my experience, that happens when authorities feel they have enough evidence to file charges, so they just move forward before they’ve completed their investigations. That’s why a lot of folks who come to me about a serious car do so when they feel authorities aren’t giving them the whole story.

So, regardless of what happened here, my hope is that investigations are as thorough as possible. Not only is that important to ensure there’s full accountability, it’s important to make sure those affected by the crash get the whole story. That’s as true for complex, rare factors as it is for simple, common ones.
