How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities obviously believe someone failed to yield here. As straight-forward as that may seem, the reasons why that might happen aren’t always so simple. Maybe a driver was on their phone, or maybe they were over-served alcohol while having lunch at a nearby restaurant. Maybe the driver was rushing to meet some kind of deadline, or maybe they have an automatic driving feature that malfunctioned. It’s up to the evidence to say for sure one way or the other. If authorities have worked to secure as much evidence as possible here, that would be good to know. However, it wouldn’t be unusual if there was more to the story that required independent investigators stepping in.
