Bridgeport, TX — January 20, 2026, Jacob Hernandez was injured as the result of a car accident at around 6:22 p.m. along US Highway 380.
Investigators said that the crash happened at the intersection of US 380 and 9th Street.
According to officials, 40-year-old Jacob Hernandez was in a Nissan Sentra going northbound. A Chevy Suburban was reportedly going eastbound on the highway. The vehicles crossed paths in the intersection, and they collided.
Due to the accident, Jacob Hernandez was seriously injured. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

People often think car accidents are straight-forward just because they’re common. Due to how common they are, though, not every crash gets the attention it deserves from authorities. They more often do a cursory glance at the evidence before quickly moving on. As such, things like video analysis, vehicle inspections, road and debris mapping, and other more complex aspects of a crash investigation can slip through the cracks. If that happened here, there could still be more to the story than what authorities have touched on.
