Whenever there’s bad weather contributing to an accident, it’s important to know if that affected the investigations at all. Sometimes, the weather can act as a sort of smokescreen, distracting authorities from other possible contributing factors that need careful analysis. That’s why it can help for victims and families to follow up with authorities. If it seems like they’re looking at things from all angles, that’s a good sign. But if they’re jumping to conclusions or only looking at the surface, they could be missing something important.
