How Did This Accident Occur?

At this point, we don’t know why these vehicles collided. Was one driver distracted or fatigued? Did one swerve to avoid another vehicle? Did one of these vehicles have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? The best way to sort out what caused this crash, in my experience, is to wait for the investigation to be completed.

Investigators will gather vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage to reconstruct this accident, while cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

If authorities think a mechanical problem played a role in this crash, a qualified expert should examine the vehicles before they are scrapped or repaired.
