Following a serious car accident like this, people often put all of the focus on the police investigations and figure that they’re going to get all the answers. A lot of the time, though, police just scratch the surface and move on. The reality is that authorities have their own goals when investigating a car accident, that doesn’t always exactly align with the needs of victims and their families. This is why many people end up having independent investigators look into the crash so they can be sure they’re getting the full story. It wouldn’t be at all unusual if that proved necessary here, as well.
