Accident Report

January 25, 2026, Douglas Chambers was injured due to a truck accident at around 6:32 p.m. along Highway 36.

It appears the crash took place just a few miles southeast of Milano. Authorities say that 41-year-old Douglas Chambers and two teenagers were in a Toyota Tacoma traveling northbound on the highway. While doing so, a Dodge truck pulling a trailer was allegedly going at unsafe speeds. The Dodge crashed into the Toyota as a result.

Due to the accident, Douglas Chambers was seriously injured. No other injuries were reported. Authorities recommended charging the Dodge truck driver.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities might be charging the truck driver allegedly at fault here, but that doesn’t necessarily mean things are open-and-shut. There’s a difference between knowing what happened and why it happened.

For example, I handled a case a while back involving very similar circumstances. Authorities charged a truck driver for being reckless and causing a serious crash. However, it was our independent investigations that revealed the truck driver had been behind the wheel for over 20 hours straight. His employer was coercing him into meeting ludicrous deadlines, and it led to him breaking the rules so he could appease his employer. What the police wrote off as just some reckless individual driver ended up being a whole company putting the community in danger.

I’m not saying that happened here, necessarily, but it would be far from the first time. That’s why it’s important to make sure investigations cover all of the possible factors that led to the crash.
