Harris County, TX — June 10, 2023, a child was injured in an alleged drunk driving accident that happened at around 3:00 a.m. along the Eastex Freeway.
Preliminary information provided by authorities indicates that the incident took place in the area of the U.S. 59 and Homestead Road intersection.
Details suggest that a Nissan Altima was traveling northbound along the main lanes of the freeway. While doing so, it appears that another Altima driven by a 25-year-old woman somehow crashed into the first vehicle.
As a result of the collision, a 6-year-old child in that first Nissan, identified by Harris County officials only as “DG”, sustained injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. Statements at this time show there are pending charges against the second driver for failure to stop and render aid, and statements also claim that driver registered a .198 BAC level following the accident.
