Accident Report

Lubbock, TX — September 19, 2026, David Raymer was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 12:15 a.m. at 4th Street and West State Highway Loop 289 access road.

Authorities said southbound 2022 Ford F250 and an eastbound 2013 Chevrolet Silverado C1500 collided at the intersection.

The Chevrolet driver, 21-year-old David Raymer, was hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash, according to authorities.

The Ford driver, a 38-year-old man who suffered minor injuries, was arrested on charges of intoxication assault and resisting arrest, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Lubbock County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities have not revealed many details about this collision yet, but I expect they will investigate this crash like any other injury accident. They should try to figure out where the driver who was arrested had been drinking before the crash if blood tests confirm he was intoxicated.

That matters because alcohol providers can share responsibility for crashes like this under Texas law if the driver was served while obviously intoxicated before getting behind the wheel.

I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but the injured driver and his family deserve to know everyone who may have been involved in this accident.
