August 25, 2026, Darryl Matthews was injured following a car accident at around 10:31 p.m. along US Highway 181.

Investigators said that the crash happened in the area of County Road 130, northwest of Floresville. It appears that 65-year-old Darryl Matthews and a 20-year-old woman were in a Chevy Corvette going southbound. The vehicle somehow lost control, and it crashed.
