Fort Bend County, TX — September 10, 2026, a child was killed in an e-scooter accident at about 5 p.m. in the 26600 block of Roesner Road.

Authorities said a vehicle struck a girl riding an e-scooter near the intersection with Elk Ridge Lane.

The 11-year-old Katy Independent School District student died after being flown to a local hospital after the Katy area crash, according to authorities.

The vehicle driver, who remained at the scene after the crash, is not expected to face any criminal charges, authorities said.
