A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2005 GMC Yukon was heading east toward Twila Trail when it left the road and hit a fence before overturning.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Parker County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Even though only one vehicle was involved in this crash, it still warrants a full investigation so the GMC driver’s family will get a clear picture of what happened on F.M. 1886.
Authorities should work to reconstruct this accident using vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage. Cell phone records could show if the driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time, but a qualified expert should examine the vehicle if investigators suspect a mechanical issue played a role in this crash.
That examination also should look into whether the Yukon had a design flaw that could have turned a survivable rollover into a fatal one. In my experience, many vehicles are designed to pass the government’s flawed rollover test, not to actually protect occupants from such a crash.
