According to officials, a 46-year-old man was in a Ford F-150 traveling along I-35. The pickup somehow left its lane, and the vehicle crashed along the side of the highway.

How Did This Accident Occur?
When it comes to single vehicle accidents, there will obviously be common factors investigators will need to look into. Those include distracted driving, speeding, and fatigue (especially this early in the morning). However, there needs to be equal attention on uncommon possible factors. Even something like a rare vehicle defect, for example, is worth consideration, even if it’s just to rule that out. Otherwise, important evidence can slip through the cracks.
It might surprise folks how many police reports folks come to me with, and it turns out authorities basically just moved on after a rushed, surface-level glance at the crash scene. In my experience, that’s not going to get anyone a fair resolution. So, it’s often necessary after crashes like this for independent investigators to step in and pick up the slack. If authorities have been more thorough with this particular crash, though, that would be good to hear.
