How Did This Accident Occur?

Was the off-road vehicle driver fatigued or distracted? Did he swerve to avoid another vehicle? Did this vehicle have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? Investigators should consider each of these questions as they work to piece together what happened on S.H. 289.

Investigators should document the vehicle’s trajectory, impact angle and any signs of evasive maneuvers as they reconstruct this crash. They also should push for an in-depth inspection of the Polaris because off-road vehicles like this are prone to issues like suspension collapse, steering faults or powertrain failure, especially if they’ve been modified or used heavily.

This investigation should give the driver’s family a clear picture of what caused this accident.
