How Did This Accident Occur?

OSHA hasn’t given any specifics about what might have happened here, and I’m certainly not going to speculate without more information. It can be frustrating when officials release so few details, and one can only hope they’ve given more information to the victim’s loved ones behind the scenes. It might surprise people to learn they don’t always do that.

I’ve had countless families come to me months after a fatal work accident asking the same questions they had on day one. Simply put, OSHA has their own priorities, and that doesn’t always overlap with the needs of a worker’s family. It sometimes falls to them, then, to make sure someone is looking out for their interests and preparing them for the legal maze that is Texas work fatality law.
