How Did This Accident Occur?
At this point, we don’t know why this vehicle went off the road. Maybe the driver was distracted or fatigued. Maybe the Mazda swerved to avoid another vehicle. Maybe it had a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism. The best way to sort out what happened here is to wait until the investigation is complete, in my experience.
Investigators will rely on vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and available video footage to reconstruct this accident, while cell phone records could show if the driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time.
If authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, a qualified expert should examine the Mazda before it is scrapped or repaired. Few law enforcement agencies have the time or training for such inspections, but the driver and his family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
