Chambers County, TX — March 1, 2023, Amber LaFleur was killed in a collision with a semi-truck around 1 a.m. on Interstate 10 in Chambers County.
According to preliminary reports, Amber LaFleur’s Buick Lucerne was completely stopped in the rightmost westbound lane of I-10 for unknown reasons. A westbound semi-truck towing a Demco trailer approached and struck the Buick from behind; the truck driver later told investigators he couldn’t see the car until it was too late to stop or steer clear. The truck hit the Buick and the impact sent the car into a barrier on the shoulder.
Amber LaFleur, 38, suffered fatal injuries, while the semi-truck driver was reportedly uninjured.
