Billings, MT — May 7, 2025, Two people were killed and two were injured in a car accident that occurred at around 2:35 A.M. on Airport Road.
An investigation is underway following a car accident that left two people dead and injured two others during the early-morning hours of May 7th. According to official reports, a vehicle with four occupants was traveling eastbound on Airport Road on the 27th Street roundabout when for unknown reasons the vehicle lost control and rolled over, ejecting three of the four occupants.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that 18-year-old Alexia Half and one other passenger suffered fatal injuries. Two others sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. At this time there has been no further information released from the accident, including what caused it or the the status of the occupant’s injuries, however this remains an ongoing investigation and more details may be released by authorities in the future.

That effort begins by addressing three key questions.
First, was the crash scene thoroughly examined to determine the vehicle’s approach, path, and behavior entering the roundabout? Roundabouts are designed to slow vehicles down, but if approached at excessive speeds or under poor conditions, they can contribute to instability, especially for vehicles making sudden steering corrections. Investigators should assess whether the vehicle entered the roundabout too fast, failed to navigate the curve, or encountered environmental factors—such as poor lighting, road debris, or surface irregularities—that contributed to the loss of control.
Second, has the possibility of a mechanical failure or equipment issue been considered? In rollover crashes, especially those involving ejections, it’s essential to examine whether tire failure, brake issues, or steering malfunctions played a role. Additionally, the performance of the vehicle’s safety systems must be reviewed.
