Habeas Corpus: A legal motion that order a jail or prison official to bring a prisoner to a hearing before the judge to determine if the inmate has been detained lawfully. Generally, this motion is filed by someone who believes that a factual or legal error has been made.
Health Maintenance Organization (HMO): A type of managed health care system that contracts with medical facilities, physicians, employers, and sometimes individuals to provide medical care to a group of members. Generally, members don't have any significant "out-of-pocket" expenses because the medical care is most often paid for by an employer at a fixed price per patient.
Hearing: A proceeding usually without a jury.
