On Thursday, December 29, the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation convened and created MDL No. 2299, which combined eleven Actos lawsuits from across the country into one single action in the Western District of Louisiana. This move allows the creation of a single set of rules with which to try all of the cases, making the discovery period and all pretrial proceedings much easier to navigate for all parties involved.
